W ith dynamic street art alongside Pop, abstract expressionism, and the conceptual, France Pavilion is lining up a Paris + Miami + Houston convergence for its inaugural presentation at Winter Street Studios, Thursday through Sunday, March 2 through 5 (free daytime viewing and experiences, March 3 through 5). Add in seven master pastry chefs from Bordeaux, French Legion H arry Winston debuted the HW logo, an emerald shape recalling Mr. Winston's preferred diamond cut, more than 50 years ago. Now, the iconic seal has inspired the house's lat- est collection, HW Logo. Designed to be worn alone or stacked, the rings, bangles, and pen- dant necklaces in 18K white, yellow, and rose gold are stamped with the logo and pricked with round bril- liant diamonds. Anne Lee Phillips Wild about HARRY Looking South + One Big Piñata: The newly minted home for Fernando Botero's gargantuan sculpture and canvases of inflated figuration, Art of the World Gallery, rolls out a solo for another Latin American master: Julio Larraz. See the Cuban painter's waltz between surrealism and realism (through April 15) … Downtown, critically acclaimed Art Blocks wrap with Dallas conceptual artist Giovanni Valderas' take on identity politics. His text-based allusion to a piñata transforms the corner of Main Street and Walker (through March). Thoughtfully organized with installments rolled out over a half- year period by curator Lea Weingarten and funded by Downtown District, the project nods to our city's diversity vis-à- vis smart public works informed by wit. Still Life, Still: Centuries of American painters have had a way with still life. The ART NOTES Cotton Club proprietor Lisa Spain has sold her much-loved store on San Felipe to John Maguire and Jennifer Cunningham. Spain purchased Cotton Club in 1989 from Terrell and Carmel Swan, who opened it in '83. She combined her Woodway and River Oaks Shopping Center stores and moved to the iconic clapboard cottage on San Felipe 13 years ago. Maguire was a buyer at Tootsies, Cunningham was most recently director of merchandising at Elizabeth Anthony; previously, she was the contemporary buyer at Tootsies. Plans are to make Cotton Club Houston's coziest boutique, stocking casual luxury womenswear, jewelry, and accessories … Dallas-based Hiatus Spa + Retreat makes its Houston debut this spring with its fourth Texas location, this one at 5740 San Felipe in Tanglewood, with a menu of massage, facials, mani-pedis, body wraps, hydrotherapy, and more … Designer Sarah Sharp Leatherwood's namesake showroom has opened at 3000 Weslayan. Look for luxury home goods such as Frazada pillows, blankets, dog beds, and clutches crafted from Peruvian textiles, designed by Leatherwood, who lived abroad in Peru, and constructed by in-house seamstresses.
