W E D D I N G P a p e r C i t y Miss Chelsea Margaux Cunningham Weds Mr. Christian Emil Carl McDermott C helsea Margaux Cunningham and Christian Emil Carl McDermott were married November 5, 2016, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Houston. The Reverend William Andrew Wood III, the bride's uncle, performed the ceremony. The bride, who is 33 and is taking her husband's name, works in Houston as an interior designer at her firm, Chelsea Interiors. She is a graduate of Georgetown University with a degree in marketing and studio art. She is the daughter of Susan Wood Cunningham and Lloyd Reid Cunningham Jr. of Houston. Her father is a commercial litigator at Cunningham Law Group; her mother owns a destination management company, Conference Consultants. The groom, 35, works in Houston as a U.S. manager for Spain-based software company Voovio. He is a graduate of University College London and IESE Business School in Barcelona. He is the son of Christa Herminghaus McDermott of Krefeld, Germany, and the late Consul General Patrick Anthony McDermott, of London. The groom's mother was previously a translator in Bonn, Germany, for the British Embassy. His father, a diplomat for the British government, was stationed primarily in Europe. The bride chose a Monique Lhuillier gown and carried a bouquet designed by Blooming Gallery. For the reception at River Oaks Country Club, she wore a white column gown by Tom Ford. The groom wore a custom morning suit from Knot Standard. The bride's sister, Paige Cunningham Kist, who served as matron of honor, wore a gown by Monique Lhuillier. Peter Maxwell Shekleton served as best man. Eventology Weddings served as the wedding planner, and the event was designed by the bride. The bride's makeup was by Kristin Daniell Makeup Artistry, and her hair was by Meghan Lee at Ceron Salon. Invitations were inspired by the groom's parents' wedding invitations from the 1970s, and created by Embossed Graphics, with calligraphy by Peggy's Notables.
