62 ART + DECORATION D esigner Bailey McCarthy's cheerful bedding and home-goods shop Biscuit Home is tiptoeing a few blocks closer to her River Oaks stomping ground, landing next door to Hugo's restaurant. McCarthy — whose own adorable home was recently featured in House Beautiful — is scheduled to open Biscuit Home Thursday, April 6, stocking her collection of bedding designed by Bailey herself and Isabel Wilson, and launching two new floral prints, Dorothy and Leighton, designed by Hanna Seabrook of Gadabout Creative. "Hints of ruby red throughout this blue floral makes Dorothy both darling and daring," says McCarthy. Leighton is a micro floral- leopard hybrid print in fresh lilac. Also new are kids' pajamas in Biscuit prints. Cheeky coasters and cocktail napkins, books, candles, and trays round out the offerings. Fear not, bloggers: The Instagram-popular Biscuit Paint Wall created by muralist Sebastien Boileau remains intact until at least 2018, as the former location now serves as Biscuit's merchandise warehouse. Anne Lee Phillips BISCUIT'S NEW JAM I t was a quiet announcement, but a huge deal: Last fall, two great design companies, Holly Hunt and Vladimir Kagan Design Group joined forces, with Hunt acquiring Kagan's line from his children after his death last year at age 88. The longtime friends had collaborated on many projects, including custom furniture for Hunt's Chicago apartment. Kagan's swooping furnishings are some of the most recognizable in the 20th century, with 120 of his iconic designs still in production and hundreds archived. Newly freshened in Holly Hunt fabrics and leathers, select pieces from the Kagan collection are available to the trade at Hunt's Houston showroom.
