T he art-filled Museum District residence of Sherry and Larry Davis was the perfect setting for an evening extolling the virtues of the Save Venice Foundation and kicking off its upcoming Il Gran Gala a Venezia — A Venetian Affair. Not only do the Davises own a palazzo in Venice, but the couple is building up a Texas chapter of Save Venice, while Larry serves as a board member. Soprano Liesl Odenweller of the Venice Music Project serenaded, accompanied by harpsichordist Mario Aschauer. The night was a prelude to the Save Venice Gala (Sunday through Wednesday, June 25 through 28), which benefi ts the nonprofi t's efforts to restore and protect the city's cultural riches.
