ART + DECORATION T hat madcap Jonathan Adler. His take on neoclassical porcelain is his new Naivete collection, a tea set that resembles lumpy papier mâché, or wax that's melted a bit. The stark white cameo and jet-black swirling handles and spouts are roughed up a little; Adler explains away the lumps and bumps with: "Imagine if Daphne Guinness or Amanda Harlech had enrolled in a pottery class and made her own tea set." From $148 for the teapot to $28 for the creamer or cup, at Jonathan Adler, 2800 Kirby Dr. in West Avenue, jonathanadler.com. Holly Moore C harismatic and cinematic interior designer Miles Redd has done it again. When Redd recently posted an Instagram photo of his silhouette (donning top hat, of course) with the words "Miles Redd for Ballard Designs," his fans went wild. Shortly thereafter, the 28-piece collection launched on Ballard's website. Lovers of Redd's glamorous and bold style just can't get enough. His book The Big Book of Chic (Assouline) proudly rests atop smartly styled coffee tables across the globe, and his fabric, wallpaper, and rug collections for Schumacher and Patterson Flynn Martin are best sellers. We can't get enough of Redd, either. So we emailed him to see what he was up to. PC: You are quite the busy chic magnet with your collections for Schumacher and a new collection for Ballard. Anything else new? MR: Maybe a trip to Betty Ford! I tease. My plate is pretty full at the moment. Just some fun decorating projects on the horizon. What chic things will you be doing this fall? I do love the fall for movies and cozy dinners. I'm looking forward to seeing the movie Call Me by Your Name and Gary Oldman's turn as Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour. I love to do a good gallery crawl in Chelsea in the fall to see all the new exhibitions and artists. And roam the Met on a rainy Sunday… Top design stops in NYC. For lighting, food and flowers, La Grenouille. For architecture and art, The Guggenheim. For quirky English style, Gerald Bland. For movies, the Film Forum, although it is under renovation at the moment. The Hispanic Society is a gem of a museum, with some treasures — a study for Sargent's Spanish Dancer and some impressive Goyas. Three perfect paint colors. Fine Paints of Europe Ocean Calm 1173 D — a rich blue. Farrow & Ball, Pelt No 254 — a fabulous aubergine, and Benjamin Moore Wythe Blue HC 143, a very soothing color to be in.
