16 letter publisher ANNE LAHO A s we begin October, Houston is forging ahead and rebuilding after the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey. The last week of August and beginning of September were a blur, but Houston and Houstonians are resilient and will push forward to bring back the wonderful city that we love. The support that Houston has received from around the world is awe-inspiring. Retailers all over Houston and around the country have offered support, donations and percentages of sales to benefit the victims of Harvey, and for that, we as a city are thankful. While Hurricane Harvey destroyed property, it could not destroy the spirit of the city. While we look ahead to a beautiful fall, PaperCity is busy photo- graphing and reporting on all that's new and exciting in Houston and beyond. On a recent trip to New York City, PaperCity editor in chief Holly Moore, design editor Anne Lee Phillips, and I had the pleasure of co-hosting a design panel with The New Traditionalists showroom at New York Design Center's annual What's New, What's Next design event. The New Traditionalists, Philip Erdoes and Brady Wilcox, were the perfect pair for our Southern soirée. Architect Bill Curtis with Curtis & Windham Architects was the keynote speaker, and just two days before, the firm had won three John Staub Awards presented by the Texas Chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art. Tito's Handmade Vodka, Dulce Vida Tequila, and some gorgeous Lucchese boots for a lucky winner rounded out the Southern hospitality — and pairs perfectly with this month's issue, our Art + Decoration issue, filled with pages of beautiful homes, architecture and stunning art. Also this month, we are thrilled to add some fabulous new advertis- ing partners to the magazine, including Giuseppe Zanotti, Memorial Hermann, Kirby Collection, The Ivy River Oaks, Muse Dental Studio, and Montage Los Cabos, which opens its Mexico outpost, with luxury residential units and a hotel set to open next year. As always, look to PaperCity as your guide to all things fashion, de- sign, and art.
