22 THE STARS ALIGNED AT UNICEF GALA AUDREY HEPBURN SOCIETY BALL IS A BEAUTIFUL SWAN SONG TO THE SEASON. Shelby Hodge sings along with Michael Bolton. Photography by Getty Images for UNICEF USA. I t was the perfect conclusion to the spring black-tie season: a lavish evening that celebrated one of Houston's leading families, headlined by two stars with international cachet. The Audrey Hepburn Society Ball, which benefits UNICEF USA, spread the love across the Marriott Marquis ballroom, where philanthropists Rose and Harry Cullen, scions of the Cullen oil fortune, received the Margaret Alkek Williams Humanitarian Award. (Harry Cullen Jr. stepped in to represent his ailing father.) As is tradition with the international coterie of UNICEF support- ers, many stepped out in national dress, creating a kaleidoscope of fashion. Adding star power to the evening was Angie Harmon, who received the Spirit of Compassion Award for her role as a UNICEF Ambassador and UNICEF End Trafficking spokeswoman. The star of Rizzoli & Isles and Law & Order was in tears following the heartfelt introduction by her three young daughters. Her award dovetailed into the contemplative undercurrent of the evening: human trafficking, the subject addressed by Mayor Sylvester Turner in his remarks. Michael Bolton provided his performance gratis for the evening, which nudged $1 million in proceeds. CHAIRS: Karin and Sean Hepburn Ferrer (Audrey Hepburn's son and his wife), Princess Tatiana Galitzine Sierra and Guillermo Sierra, Amy and Rob Pierce, Molly and Jim Crownover, Sofia Adrogue and Sten Gustafson, and Jerry Ann Woodfin Costa and Victor Costa. In the mix: UNICEF's Barron Seger in from New York, Princess Maria-Anna and Prince Piotr Galitzine, Nidhika and Pershant Mehta, Penny and Paul Loyd, Sippi and Ajay Khurana, Joanne King Herring, Susan Sarofim, Susan and Dan Boggio, Nina and Karun Magnon, Kelli Cohen Fein and Martin Fein, and Christine Falgout and Bill Gutknecht.
