F ive years ago, it became tradition for my Oklahoma bestie, Dana Garner, and I to refer to the TWO x TWO for AIDS and Art weekend as "Dana and Billy's New Year's Eve." This year, we kicked things off, as we typically do, at First Look. Unless you've been hibernating for the past decade, you know this is the annual kickoff party held the Thursday before the mothership TWO x TWO for AIDS and Art Gala on Saturday night. All dollars raised (and generally there are a lot of them — this year, more than $7.3 million) support the incredible amfAR and our cultural gem, the Dallas Museum of Art. For First Look, Headington Companies and Forty Five Ten presented "Fearless American Fashion and Food" at the Rachofsky House, the venue that always serves as the backdrop for TWO x TWO, thanks to event founders and hosts Cindy and Howard Rachofsky. The duo enlists Todd Fiscus to work design magic, and he and his team at Todd Events turned the Richard Meier-designed home into a thoroughly intriguing space for the week, with top-tier auction art installed throughout every inch of the modernist white cube.
