32 TOMA TAKES TOOTSIES SHELBY HODGE SPARKLES. PHOTOGRAPHY LIZETTE BELEN SOTO. T he beyond colorful Toma Clark Haines made quite the splash with her Houston debut, courtesy of Tootsies and a host com- mittee of Meg Goodman Bonini, Sabiha Rehmatulla, Becca Cason Thrash, and Holly Moore, and organized by Greg Fourticq and John Cone, who had chaired City ArtWorks' The Art of Conversation (along with Nancy Marcus Golden) the day before. Haines, who's well-known in the design sphere as The Antiques Diva, takes groups around the world to hunt treasures. Her newest venture is jewelry, and her first collection is inspired by Venice, where she lives and works. When you have a new jewelry collection, what's a girl to do but come to Texas. The stars aligned and with a swoosh of diamonds and sapphires, the gregarious Haines landed in Houston for a special Tootsies showing, with a percentage of sales benefitting City ArtWorks.
