30 LAST GASP HOLIDAYS BEAUTIFUL MUSIC AT BEDESIGN Photography Wilson Parish A t international home furnishings destination BeDesign, a Houston Symphony string quar- tet — violinists MuChen Hsieh and Annie Chen, Jarita Ng on the viola, and cellist Maki Kubota — between sets by DJ Matt Johns and a PA by St. Nick himself, made for a festive Yule-time fête. The evening in the gleaming interiors of the home-design Mecca, hosted by owners Adrián Dueñas and Marcelo Saenz and chairmen Carrie and Sverre Brandsberg- Dahl, served as the holiday bash for the Houston Symphony Young Associates Council, drawing 120 culturally inclined music acolytes. BeDesign generously gave back a portion of shopping proceeds to the performing-arts nonprofit. The highlight was a rousing rendition of Sleigh Ride, with musician Ian Mayton as percussionist conjuring the holiday standard's buggy-whip sound. Bachman Z adok Jewelers rang in the holiday season with a very personal celebration marking 43 years for owners Helene and Dror Zadok. The family partnered with Crime Stoppers, providing pro- ceeds from the raffle and the popular gemstone cupcakes (buy a cupcake and find a beautiful gem within) to the crime fighting non-profit. Welcoming guests were Zadok sons and wives: Lisa and Gilad, Amy and Segev, and Michelle and Jonathan. The evening doubled as the launch of Zadok's newest designer, Stephen Webster.
