28 A CELEBRATION OF CONTRIBUTION TO WWII TEXAS A&M's BY SHELBY HODGE. PHOTOGRAPHY PRISCILLA DICKSON, WILSON PARISH. T he Texas A&M University Corps of Cadets and Aggie liberators from World War II were honored with the Guardian of the Human Spirit Award at the Holocaust Museum Houston's annual luncheon. Seventy members of the corps were in attendance at the Hilton Americas- Houston, some participating in the flag presentation, others escorting Holocaust survivors to their tables. The Aggie band and Century Singers provided entertainment and Robert Gates, former Secretary of Defense and former A&M president, was interviewed by Porter S. Garner III, president and CEO of the A&M Association of Former Students. WHO: Chairs Nancy and Arthur Brand, Sam and Barney Gershen and Lorraine and Ed Wulfe, as well as Neil Bush, John Sharp, Mayor Sylvester Turner, Joy and Benjamin Warren, Barbara Hines, Nancy and Jack Dinerstein, Mady and Ken Kades, Regina Rogers, and Tali and Eric Blumrosen.
