W hen international entrepreneur Carmina Zamorano and her dashing husband, Rafael Chavez — an international force in his own right — moved into a three- story penthouse at Bayou Bend Towers, they transformed the glamorous aerie into a party palace. The stylish duo first opened the doors for a glossy soirée celebrating Neal Hamil's one-year anniversary as president of Zamorano's Carnan Properties. That milestone and the expansion of the luxury real estate company with its international connections set the stage for the evening. "We want guests to just enjoy the view and this amazing place," Zamorano said. While a harpist performed on the landing of the double stairway, guests speaking a multitude of languages filled the living and dining areas and moved onto the terrace — a multi-level space large enough for this party of several hundred. Views of the downtown skyline, overlooking River Oaks, and a waterfall splashing into the rooftop swimming pool were points of party conversations.
