Chairs Stephanie Cockrell and Laura Davenport joined honorary chairmen Sue and Lester Smith and auction chair Rosemarie Johnson to concoct the largest Signature Chefs event in the country, with creations from 24 top toques, including culinary honoree Michael Cordúa. Weeks later, the first major fund-raiser for the Harris County Sheriff's Office Foundation was a finedining smash, raising more than $400,000 toward the nonprofit. The sold-out epicurean evening offered guests the culinary equivalent of an all-star lineup: Chairman Deana Blackburn welcomed Bocuse d'Or Foundation board members Thomas Keller, Daniel Boulud, Jerome Bocuse, and Richard Rosendale, who prepared an inspired fourcourse dinner.
