68 ART + DECORATION DIOR gray T he world of Monsieur Christian Dior is painted in pale tints of rose, Louis XVI blue, and perhaps most famously, Dior Gray. Hamish Bowles describes Chez Dior, in the foreword to the book Dior and His Decorators (Vendome), as being "enveloped in melting dove gray." The hue, once a closely guarded secret before computers could match paint colors, is now mixed by Benjamin Moore under the name Dior Gray 2133-40. © MARK SHAW/MPTV IMAGES
