ART + DECORATION 72 A fter a decade working for Knoll, Internum, and Roche Bobois, Adam Cook reached out to Canadian contemporary- lighting brand Bocci with several sketches of a small glass shop he hoped to open. Bocci was in — Cook quit his job, sold his house, and created Shop. "I found my calling in the world of contemporary furniture and lighting," he says. Located in Decorative Center Houston, next to Eggersmann and above Holly Hunt, Shop is a 2,500-square-foot SHOP, THE SHOWROOM M alibu's Point Dume is one of Southern California interior designer Jeffrey A l a n M a r k s ' favorite places — a long, jagged bluff that juts into the Pacific Ocean with stunning views of sand, surf, and sky. The coastal landmark is the inspiration behind his new lighting collection for Progress Lighting, which he launched earlier this year at the Dallas International Lighting Market. Marks describes the tiered ocean-blue metal of his Surfrider pendant as an echo of gentle waves lapping the sandy shore, while the brass and natural-linen Windbluff pendant captures the effortless appeal of a sophisticated beach house. Marks mixes equal doses of industrial and chic into the collection, as seen in the cut- metal detailing of the Yerba pendant, which takes its cue from Moroccan lighting.
