Dino-mite Gala at HMNS PRISCILLA DICKSON Chairs Dan & Eleanor Gilbane T he Viva la Vida Gala was a party of prehistoric proportions, raising more than $1 million for the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Mayan natives in feather headdresses greeted guests, and dinner was served with the dinosaurs in the Hall of Paleontology and among the sparklers in The Lester and Sue Smith Gem Vault. The most popular exhibit, however, was the silent auction, which dripped with jewels and gems, as well as trips to dream locales such as an Italian winery and the famous Fenway Park in Boston. Also drawing wows were the fossils to be installed this month, available for gala-goers to preview and sponsor. Chairs Eleanor and Dan Gilbane and Vanessa and Tony Sanchez reigned over the dinomite night.
