W h e n w e arrived at Marburger Farm at 8 a m , t h e fields were b u s t l i n g with shoppers — many of the women dressed in the Round Top uniform of floral dresses or denim shorts paired with hats and boots. They were there for the Early Bird Tailgate, which offered coffee, breakfast, and a book signing with Jasmine Roth of HGTV's Hidden Potential and Help! I Wrecked My House fame. As fans waited for signatures and snaps, lines began forming outside the gates. At 10 am, the bell rang, stanchions went down, the tents opened, and lovers of all things decorative began strolling the aisles of the eight tents, looking for gems. As the morning went on, breakfast became lunch, and coffee became cocktails. We made our way through the crowds, where we bumped into Rancho Pillow's Sheila Youngblood, who was hosting L.A. designer Kelly Wearstler. Scene: HGTV's Grace Mitchell, Kristen Nix, Grayson Rooker, Kelly Hermes, Katie Stadler, Rachel Holaday, Martha Britton, and artist Butch Anthony, in from Marfa. At The Compound, one of our favorite spots was next to the Moët & Chandon vending machine. Lori Smithers' The White Barn by Fickle International had a stunning display of white stoneware as well as harvest tables. Season Ammons gave an impromptu acoustic guitar performance. Bader Ranch expanded its footprint by setting up temporary tent space that was home to The Feel Good Artisan Market out of Houston. We were pleased to see crowds and vendors doing well, as the night before, a tornado had torn through Warrenton and took out the tent space at Bader Ranch. Not to be intimidated by Mother Nature, Bader Ranch had replacement tents up the next day without skipping a beat. We shopped Jardin de France in the main barn and loved newcomer Barlow, a fashion-filled Airstream whose owners are from Southwest Louisiana. We stopped at Sissy Light Hats, and Stash Style, a pop-up shop by Curate by Stash which has a year-round shop in Round Top.
