I t's the reason Dallas has eclipsed every other city in Texas as a 21st-century nexus for collecting and visual culture. Cue Dallas Art Fair, which returns to Fashion Industry Gallery next month with its robust, full-sized 14th edition featuring 85 international, national, and Texas galleries. (Dallas Arts Month, staged annually in April, is on.) Expect big players including global powerhouse Perrotin; iconic- to-cool NYC dealers Kasmin and Karma; and a surge of L.A. action including Louis Stern Fine Arts, Night Gallery, and Various Small Fires (L.A., Seoul), which also unveils a Dallas outpost timed to the opening of the fair. These galleries join a lineup of 15 Texas-founded galleries, including new fair arrival Martha's Contemporary from Austin. "I'm very excited for the 14th edition, a return to our spring dates, and having a full fair," says fair director Kelly Cornell.
