The meal was my treat of the week since the menu was created by the one and only Cassandra Moses of Art 2 Catering. As the starter, she presented avocado salad with heirloom baby tomatoes, purple radish, and petite greens with lime chervil vinaigrette. She outdid herself with the entree: soy caramel Scottish salmon, carrot salad, spicy rice cake, mint ginger, and Kafir butter sauce. As desserts were dispersed, party ringmaster Todd Fiscus stood and instructed us to open the envelopes we found beneath our menu cards. It was time for fashion bingo. Our cards featured not a series of numbers under B-I-N-G-O, but squares with Miu Miu or LINGERIE or a bottle of nail polish or the Louis Vuitton logo. You've never seen so many fashionistas snap to attention and begin spying on one another's cards. Maestro Fiscus would reach behind a large Saks Fifth Avenue box and come back with — voilà, a pair of Manolo Blahniks, and we all frantically searched to see if we had that on our cards. It was a frenzy of fun, and a few guests walked away with gift cards from the luxury retail Mecca.
