19 Ruven Afanador for a limited-edition Assouline book. My boring contribution was just the eccen- tric price tag of my Tom Ford suit. And although some guests attempted to emulate the original Iris Apfel, Lauren Ezersky, Douglas Little, Lynn Yaeger, or Patrick McDonald (all in attendance and in full, true eccentric gear!), to me real eccentricity must always be understated luxury. Therefore the prize for best-dressed man goes to my friend Robert Hallam, wearing a cashmere Berluti jacket and sweater in fading shades of pearl grays so soft it felt like butter … I had to refrain from getting too friendly! Nancy Rogers looked Hollywood glamour in a silk jumpsuit by one of Forty Five Ten's young talents. Christen Wilson, in no need of extra eccentricity, was divine in a dress by young Russian designer Vika Gazinskaya, who herself looked adorable in one of her blue creations. And since the devil is in the details, I have to mention Deedie Rose's white-gold necklace cast in the shape of a Basquiat cardboard crown by David Bielander — a wearable sculpture. Tim Headington, charmer-in-chief, welcomed everyone who came to fête from near and far. When introduced to Lorenzo Martone, he declared he loves his unique bikes so much that they hang them on the wall like works of art. Douglas Little designed the most amusing lab to showcase his recently launched perfume line. As each of his scents is so natural you can drink them, he infused vodka shots with the parfum, amusing every one of the guests' senses. The night culminated with the unbelievable Dita Von Teese performing her martini-glass bath and feathers burlesque routine for the excited crowd on the rooftop of The Joule. After some dancing — with tunes courtesy of the fabulous Lucy Wrubel, who of course had to include Spice Girls classics — the diehards descended into the Midnight Rambler, where the beautiful Erin Wasson hosted the after-after-after party. As for me? A rose-gold, limited-edition watch Bolke designed in collaboration with Fossil will remind me when it's time to fly back and take the journey all over again!
