DALLAS PAPERCITY DESIGN AWARDS WITH DUNHILL PARTNERS & DALLAS DESIGN DISTRICT THE WINNING ENTRIES FOR THE 2016 DALLAS PAPERCITY DESIGN AWARDS WITH DUNHILL PARTNERS AND DALLAS DESIGN DISTRICT SPECIAL SECTION WRITTEN BY ANNE LEE PHILLIPS The Winning Entries … Y ear two of the Dallas PaperCity Design Awards with Dunhill Partners and Dallas Design District elicited 232 outstanding entries across 17 categories, with a new Bill Hutchinson Award bestowed upon an individual, foundation, or company that has made a difference and galvanized the Dallas design community. Our panel of judges — designers Jay Jeffers and Jeffrey Alan Marks and archi- tect Bobby McAlpine (see more about the judges on page 58) — sifted through more than 2,000 images of impressive projects and had some very difficult choices to make. Verdicts were reached, and a multifaceted celebration was held Thursday, November 3, at Dallas Design District. The evening began with cocktails in the George Cameron Nash showroom, hosted by the charming Nash himself and Bill Hutchinson, owner of a large swath of Dallas Design District and developer of the new Virgin Hotel. The awards presentation was held at Level Two event space in Dallas Design District, with exquisite Andrée Putman-designed Christofle silver trays presented to the winning designers and architects. The celebration continued at concurrent after-parties: an al fresco lounge created by Todd Events, with DJ Jordan; an appearance by artist Robert Kuo at Ellouise Abbott showroom; and Jeffers, McAlpine, and Marks signing their latest books at David Sutherland showroom. Herewith, we highlight the winning homes, restaurants, commercial spaces, gardens, offices, restorations, and products that impressed our judges, and what they had to say. 56 Winning Entry for Residential Over 3,500 Square Feet, Kirsten Fitzgibbons and Kelli Ford, Kirsten Kelli Winning Entry for Residential Over 3,500 Square Feet, Kirsten Fitzgibbons and Kelli Ford, Kirsten Kelli
