M odels in breathtaking Monique Lhuillier gowns from the Spring 2017 collection wove through a sea of social swans at the Fashion Industry Gallery (F.I.G). The cause de célèbre was Fashion Group International's Night of Stars gala, where Lhuillier accepted the Career Achievement in Fashion award. Each year, this glitzy fête enlists world-renowned designers, tastemakers, and celebrities to shine light on Dallas' emerging talent and to raise the funds to launch burgeoning fashion ca- reers. This year was a particularly golden showing of the city's Who's Who, including Ken Downing, Neiman Marcus' dapper senior VP and fashion director; former model and soap opera heartthrob Greg Vaughan; media mogul Rupert Murdoch, there to support his honoree wife, Texas-born actress Jerry Hall; and Hall's fellow 2016 honorees, diamond queen Sue Gragg, showroom owner Allan Knight, and philanthropist Lynn McBee. "The Night of Stars was a magical night for Fashion Group International of Dallas," said FGI of Dallas regional director Chuck Steelman. "The amazing honorees made the night even more special." Steelman, Britt Harless, Rachel Roberts, and Ken Weber served as hosts for the party, which raised more than $200,000 for the scholarship foundation. Our favorite Night of Stars moment was when Lhuillier surprised us all with a sneak peek of her 20th anniversary collection. Fashion fans, get ready: The divine pieces hit stores in the spring.
