Since 1978, The Family Place's mission has been to eliminate family violence through proactive prevention and intervention, extensive community education, and caring advocacy and assistance for victims and their families. Critical funds raised through the Partners Card program provide family violence victims with emergency shelter; food; clothing; counseling; animal kennels; medical and dental care; day care and after-school programs for children; job, technical and life skills for adults and much more. Now in its 25th year, Partners Card has provided 257,511 nights of shelter to women, children and men, and with the help of the community, The Family Place has: • Counseled more than 210,000 clients in residential and outreach programs • Provided life-saving shelter to more than 23,000 women, children and men • Answered more than 575,000 calls for help • Helped more than 18,000 batterers learn how to change their behavior • Reached 6,000 students annually through our youth education programs
