letter publisher STEVEN VISNEAU, SISTERBROTHER MGMT 18 I t was heartbreaking and surreal to watch the devastation of Hurricane Harvey last month. I worked for PaperCity in Houston prior to moving to Dallas, so it was particularly striking to see recognizable areas submerged, with only the top of street signs peeking through the water. As the rain unceasingly fell, I busied myself doing what so many of us in Dallas did: calling and texting old friends, colleagues, and clients, asking whether they and their loved ones were safe and if their homes and businesses had been spared. The photos, videos, and stories they shared were tragic. But in the hurricane's aftermath, it was also evident that the Texas spirit is a real, tenacious thing, and that the diverse city we love will fight to regain its footing. As our team trickled back into the PaperCity office there, this determined spirit was also present. Our team gathered with a renewed purpose to support the city, directly and from afar, and to continue to showcase the dynamic, artful, and philanthropic people and organizations that have helped shape Houston and greater Texas and will continue to do so as rebuilding takes place and the city is renewed. As we examine our purpose at PC, and with a note of optimism and excitement as we look to the future, we're thrilled to announce the addition of Juliana de la Breteche to our Dallas team as senior marketing manager. While Juliana is fairly new to Dallas, having recently moved here from Paris, she is certainly accustomed to the world of marketing and events, with pre- vious experience working for L'Oréal and, most recently, for Prince Albert of Monaco's Peace and Sport NGO. Along with her impressive résumé and fluency in several languages, Juliana brings with her an innate sense of style, luxury, and, most importantly, good-natured humor. We know you'll enjoy meeting her. Briana Buxbaum Dallas Publisher briana@papercitymag.com
