W hen diamonds are on the menu, everyone's in for a delicious evening. So it was when De Beers Diamond Jewellers and PaperCity teamed with La Table for a gourmet eve- ning in the second-fl oor Château room, overlooking the twinkling lights of Post Oak Boulevard. Also twinkling were dazzling jewels from De Beers High Jewellery collection, fl own in from London — magnifi cent necklaces, talisman medallions, and jewels from the Enchanted Lotus Collection. The marriage of diamonds and fi ne French food was au naturel, according to Alexandre Gaudelet, found- er and CEO of Invest Hospitality, which owns Le Table. De Beers was founded in 1888, the same year that famed French chef Auguste Escoffi er was born. Et voilà! A classic French dinner was served. The divine feast included vichyssoise au caviar, raviolis de homard rafraichis, poulard au vin jaune et truffes, and, for dessert, omelette Norvegienne, also known as baked Alaska.
