I t was a fun night out when Ceron, master of urban chic and hairmaster to a tip-top clientele, presented his fashion picks for the holidays at The Webster bou- tique at the Galleria. With a choice of labels running from Proenza Schouler to Valentino and Stella McCartney, Ceron was in designer heaven. "This is such a great store," he said before presenting his favorite looks for men and women. "This is like my third closet. I mean, some people have four closets. T here was nary a dry eye in the ballroom of the Hilton Americas- Houston when University of Texas president Gregory Fenves, for the fi rst time, publicly discussed his father's harrowing journey from surviving the Holocaust as a young teen to managing a successful career in America. Though Fenves himself was recipient of the Holocaust Museum Houston Guardian of the Human Spirit Award, he dedicated the honor to his father, Steven Fenves, who joined UT's 29th president on stage for a standing ovation from the 1,000 in attendance. The awards luncheon, established in 1997 to honor institutions and leaders who enhance the lives of others and work to better mankind, raised more than $700,000 for HMH programs. Leading the emotional day were honorary chairs UT System chancellor Bill McRaven, the Jack Blanton family and the Ernest Cockrell family, and luncheon chairs Linda and Les Allison, Tali and Eric Blumrosen, Hannah and Cal McNair, and Kelly and Bill Montgomery.
