Lauder (her grandmother was Estée) serves as style and image director of Estée Lauder, runs her own Aerin cosmetics, perfume, fashion and furniture companies — and writes design-inspired books on the side. She recently touched down in Houston to sign her newest, Palm Beach (Assouline), at Longoria Collection, which carries her furniture and home accessories. The book is a visual romp through the glittering resort town's restaurants, architecture, vintage shops (Circa Who is a favorite), and famous faces — sources of inspiration and second home to Lauder. Longoria Collection's Sylvia Longoria Dorsey, Elizabeth Dorsey Fertitta, and Cherry Damianoff welcomed friends and clients to the Uptown Park boutique, where champagne flowed and a large contingent of Lauder fans resulted in a sellout of books. An intimate dinner followed at Ouisie's Table, hosted by the ladies of Longoria. To-do lists were surreptitiously penned.
