88 A HOME RUN SHELBY HODGE IS ON DECK. PHOTOGRAPHY PRISCILLA DICKSON, WILSON PARISH. T here's no denying the widespread philanthropy that The Astros Foundation has gifted the community. That philanthropic largesse is what earned the foundation the Holocaust Museum Houston's Guardian of the Human Spirit Award. Astros Foundation executive director Twila Carter accepted the honor before 850 fans who filled the Hilton Americas-Houston ballroom for the luncheon fundraiser. Highlight of the day was the on-stage discussion among H-E-B president Scott McClelland, Astros executive advisor Reid Ryan, and MLB Hall of Famer Jeff Bagwell. Before the program, McClelland invited the throng to take a seventh-inning stretch and join in singing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game." WHO: Luncheon chairs Barbara and Michael Gamson, Patti and Mike Morgan, and Marcie and Bob Zlotnik; honorary chairs Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo, and Mayor Sylvester Turner; host committee chairs Renee and Alan Helfman; plus HMH board chair Benjamin Warren and wife Joy, Mayor Pro Tem Ellen Cohen, Consul General of Israel Gilad Katz, Tali and Eric Blumrosen, Arthur Schechter, Pierce Bush, Maria and Neil Bush, Jeri and Marc Shapiro, and HMH CEO Kelly Zúñiga and Luis Zúñiga.
