STREETS MEMORIAL PARK BRIDGE BASH IS AN OVERPASS BLAST. SHELBY HODGE CHECKS IN. PHOTOGRAPHY BY DAVE ROSSMAN. L ittle did drivers know as they zoomed beneath Memorial Park's living bridge that there was a party going on overhead. Memorial Park Conservancy's Urban Wild young professional group takes over the bridge for an annual al fresco fundraiser, and on this night, cool temps and starry skies provided the perfect stage for the Glowing in the Park-themed Bridge Bash. Illuminated orbs on cocktail tables and glow sticks helped guests embrace the theme. DJ Tran spun the discs as 220 revelers checked in at the foot of the bridge, then strolled up to the cocktail, dessert, and coffee stations. Dancing was encouraged, as was a stop at the Smilebooth photo booth. Who knew that cardiologist Dr. Khashayar Hematpour is also a classical pianist, or that gastroenterologist Dr. Isaac Raijman is an accomplished painter. The Arts of Healing benefit for Sunshine Kids spotlighted the under-the-radar talents of two dozen physicians. Guests perused exhibitions of paintings and photography while medical musicians performed a variety of musical genres. Following dinner, the cocktail-attired throng hit the dance floor to the rocking tunes of The Chocolate Orb, led by otolaryngologist Dr. Eric Powitzky.
