JAY JEFFERS x ELEGANT ADDITIONS RAY BOOTH FOR HICKORY CHAIR S an Francisco designer Jay Jeffers has created luxurious and sculptural interiors around the country, from Napa Valley and the Bay Area to Florida, Colorado, and New York. But Texas claims the Elle Decor A-list designer as our own. Not only does he have projects in Texas, but Jeffers grew up in Dallas and attended UT at Austin. He has authored two books, including Be Bold: Bespoke Modern Interiors (Gibbs Smith Publisher), which corrals his newest projects. A master of detail, he espouses sculptural forms, exquisite materials, and bold pattern and color to craft standout spaces. His new door- hardware collaboration with Access by Accurate was inspired by his everyday encounters with great design, with eight silhouettes for knobs and levers in bronze, brass, nickel, and two-tone versions. The collection is exclusively in Houston at Elegant Additions. Meet Jay Jeffers Monday, March 23, 5:30 pm, at Elegant Additions, as part of Texas Design Week Houston, for cocktails and book signing. Texas Design Week is a ticketed event. For a complete schedule and tickets to TXDW Houston, go to texasdesignweek.com. D esigner Ray Booth, a longtime partner at the prestigious McAlpine architecture firm (Nashville, NYC), is noted for mixing organic, modern design with traditional classicism and Continental antiques. His work has been published in Elle Decor, Architectural Digest, and Veranda, and his book, Evocative Interiors, was published by Rizzoli in 2018. Booth's first furniture collection with Hickory Chair makes ample use of such rich materials as bronze, nickel, marble, walnut, and santos rosewood, with each piece bench-made by craftsmen at 108-year-old Hickory Chair in North Carolina. The collection is to the trade at the Hickory Chair showroom, 7150 Old Katy Road, Suite 100. Ray Booth will be at Design in Bloom presented by Flower magazine at the Houston Design Center, in collaboration with Texas Design Week Houston, Tuesday, March 24, panel presentation 9:30 to 10:30 am; in conversation with Bobby McAlpine 11 am to noon.
