letter publisher JENNY ANTILL CLIFTON 18 W elcome to the March issue. February was a whirlwind of celebrations for the company, as we celebrated the 25th anniversary of PaperCity magazine. We kicked off the festivities with an intimate dinner at The Annie Café & Bar — newly redesigned, with new owners Benjamin Berg and Robert Del Grande at the stove; thankfully the tortilla soup is as delicious as ever — followed by the main event on the couture level of Neiman Marcus the next evening. It was wonderful to see so many of our friends under one roof: old friends, advertisers, and current and past PaperCity family to honor our quarter-century birthday. Many stories were exchanged that evening from the past 25 years, from the early days at the magazine to the raucous parties that people swear were some of the best they've ever attended. In a fun surprise, the mayor's office presented a proclamation that Thursday, February 6, was PaperCity Day in Houston, cementing cultural importance in this vibrant, diverse city. We will never forget the special time we had celebrating the magazine and could not have done it without the support of our amazing friends at Neiman Marcus and The Annie. Looking towards March, we're thrilled to host the annual PaperCity Design Awards at The Post Oak Hotel (Monday, March 30) and Texas Design Week Houston (March 23-27). Designers from all over the country — including India Hicks, Ray Booth, Alessandra Branca, Miguel Flores-Vianna, AD's Mitch Owens, Jay Jeffers, Sheila Bridges, and more — will convene in Houston for a week of illustrated talks, cocktails, panel discussions, book signings, and product launches. See pages 88 through 96 for more information, and head to texasdesignweek.com for ticket information and details. We hope you enjoy the issue! Monica Bickers Group Publisher monica@papercitymag.com
