Thirty-five stories proud. But a lot has changed in high-rise living since. To bring this grand old (by high-rise standards) building back to the spotlight, Tema Development has turned to the Mirador Group for an extensive makeover. Tema has played the long game with its 6.86 acres of land around Hermann Park, only opening One Hermann Place (a seven-story mid-rise) in 2016, and building Two Herman Place (a new 32-story high-rise) now. THE RESTAURANTS' CHAMPION SUPER THRILLS BURGER TOWN Houston's champion of restaurants — the woman endearingly dubbed The Diva of Dining — Cleverley Stone lost her battle with uterine cancer. Stone's death in the final days of May hit restaurateurs particularly hard. The 68-year-old media personality lived her mantra of "Dine Out & Do Good" with an enthusiasm and commitment few could match. Stone founded Houston Restaurant Weeks in 2003, taking it from humble beginnings to a month-long extravaganza that draws crowds to restaurants in the otherwise slow summer and raises vital funds for Houston Food Bank ($16.6 million and continuing so far).
