T his project began as a lens into the minds of creatives, to show how they see the world during this period of isolation induced by COVID-19. But recent events and unrest in Texas and around the country have changed that view. In art and expression, we have a duty to look not just within, but also outward at the society in which we live. We have an obligation to question how we can impact our community in a positive way; to think of those who are outside our immediate circle of friends who may be less fortunate or feel the hurt of racism. This is a project of diverse creatives. They represent different ages, ethnicities, and countries. Our hope is that through our collective efforts, we spread not only the beauty of art, but a hope for a better future. — Michelle Aviña Quarantine has been somewhat exhausting. For the most part, I didn't feel up to creating new work, so instead, my quarantine series focuses on reworking previous work and found pieces and giving them a new place to live in this new normal.
