RENÉE FLEMING SHARES HER WORLD-RENOWNED TALENT WITH THE HOUSTON SYMPHONY. By Shelby Hodge. Photography Priscilla Dickson, Wilson Parish. NIGHT MUSIC A LITTLE T he Houston Symphony returned to Jones Hall with all 84 musicians and conductor Steven Reineke on stage for the season opener that soared with the participation of revered soprano Renée Fleming. The concert and the performance by Fleming — who sang opera arias, classical songs, and several Broadway tunes — set an upbeat tempo for the lavish dinner soirée that followed at the Corinthian. Black-tie- attired guests loaded onto posh buses for the brief transport to the neoclassical former bank building where City Kitchen delivered a dinner worthy of opening night, while the Richard Brown Orchestra inspired dancing until the midnight hour. The Events Company designed the space with lavish flowers for the late-hour festivities.
