Christopher Hubbard N ot only is Lenny Kravitz a musical genius with four Grammy Awards and acting credits such as The Hunger Games, but he's also a prolific and talented designer. Through Kravitz Design, which he founded in 2003, he creates interiors, industrial design, branding, and graphic design — all with his inimitable soulful elegance. Collaborations have included Dom Pérignon, Kartell, Leica, Rolex, Flavor Paper, and a debut collection for CB2 in 2015. His newest gems for CB2 are out now — furniture, rugs, accessories, and lighting inspired by African textiles and Parisian vibes, all conjured with a rock 'n' roll edge. Highlights of the 70-piece collection include the Imbu velvet modular pieces with channeled cushions, bentwood frames, and a Brazilian mid-century modern spirit. The Sojourn Printed Ogo bed, a floating platform wrapped in an African-inspired print of Kravitz's own design, takes cues from the '60s and '70s with a bent nickel railing and low profile. His Lineage woven throw, inspired by traditional African fabric motifs, is woven on handlooms using unspun wool. CB2 X Kravitz Design at CB2, Rice Village, 2414 University Blvd., cb2.com.
