PAPERCITY PROMOTION Photography George Fiala F o r t y - f i v e d e s i g n enthusiasts joined PaperCity and Kohler for lunch and an intimate conversation with Los Angeles-based interior designer, stylist, book author and blogger Emily Henderson. It was a perfect match, as she regularly partners with Kohler on h e r p r o j e c t s , and given her 1 million Instagram f o l l o w e r s , t h e d e s i g n - s a v v y g u e s t s w e r e f a m i l i a r w i t h Henderson. The event took place in Kohler's expansive Plano store — and you know a space is gorgeous when y o u c a n h o s t a luncheon down the middle, quite literally between the faucets. Bellissimi Fiori designed spectacular flowers in dusky shades of pinks running the length of the long table, and AT Bistro crafted a comfort menu, served family-style, that began with roasted pumpkin soup, followed by roasted chicken with herb gremolata, and king orange salmon with celery root purée and blood orange gastrique. Apple crisp with a cinnamon-pecan crumble ended the meal on a seasonal note. Meanwhile, Henderson chatted all things design — from her past visits to Round Top to how she loves every design style (although she's still in her "eclectic farmhouse" era); how once you know the new design rules, it's fun to break them; what it's like to have family and friends as clients; a n d h o w s h e includes a vintage f i n d i n e v e r y project to give the space personality and charm. As she signed her book after lunch, guests seized the opportunity to ask burning design q u e s t i o n s o f their own.
