Amy Adams BUZZ: Ligne Roset's Design District Reveal Christofle, the French purveyor of tableware, has teamed with equally chic French atelier THG Paris (handcrafted collections for the bath). Together they have created Malmaison, drawing its French Empire inspiration from Château de Malmaison near Paris. Christofle first created this collection featuring intricate lotus leaves and palmettes in 1967 as flatware; 47 years later, it's reimagined as bath fittings and accessories in metal, crystal and Portoro marble. ALEFIYA AKBARALLY We'll be skedaddling to the first-ever survey of color photography in American art, originated and organized by the Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Fort Worth. With more than 70 works that span 150 years of image-making, "Color! Ligne Ligne Roset's Ploum collection Roset is relocating from McKinney Avenue to fresh digs on Hi Line Drive; watch for a mid-September opening. New owners Brittany and Adam Branscum boast respective degrees in interior design and architecture from the University of Oklahoma; the Dallas Ligne Roset marks the couple's second Texas store (the other is in Houston) for the celebrated French furniture retailer. Expect collections from sleek European design houses including Nils, Togo, Ploum, Amy, Tolbiac and Et Cetera. This statement home-furnishings destination takes over a spot that was previously a trade-only art gallery, transforming its 10,600-square-foot blueprint into a 5,000-square-foot showroom welcoming both designers and public, and cozying up to an ample warehouse. Anspon GRAY MATTER Photographer Gray Malin of Maison Gray: The House of Gray Malin Photography is particularly known for his bird's-eye-view photographs of beachscapes in Portugal, Dubai and Africa, which become vivid patterns of beach umbrellas. The new wallpapers, taken from his À la Plage aerial series, are rendered in both abstractions of these scenes or as photorealistic images. In collaboration with custom wallpaper company Black Crow Studios, the traditional realm of wallpaper is pushed into the realm of art. Malin will be at Forty Five Ten (he's a native Dallasite now living in Southern California) Thursday, September 12, showing his photography collection.
