MICHELLE WATSON, CHINH PHAN Style for Miles at LBD Jeff Shell, Ekaterina Levchenko Julio Sanchez M odel man Jeff Shell's Little Black Dress Designer competition, now in its fifth year, asks aspiring local designers to reinvent the wardrobe staple, awarding some $30,000 worth of scholarships to the five Houston-area winners. Following a video presentation and runway show at the Momentum Audi-presented event, the victors were announced: Julio Sanchez, Ekaterina Levchenko, Paola Contreras, Chanel Latouche, and Shanna Tucker. Chairmen Judy Nyquist and Shannon Hall organized the night, which also paid tribute to Houston Community College fashion department founder Kay King. Judges included Tootsies' Chris Goins, Designer Social's Francine Ballard, designing duo Sarah and Saba Jawada, designer Toni Whitaker, Neiman Marcus' Liz Zaruba, and PaperCity's Kate Stukenberg, among others.
