Laura Callan Nina Phillips Dec My Room, Indeed It was a high-voltage occasion when the eponymous founders of Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams returned to town to unveil their new Highland Village flagship, a temple of home furnishings and an ode to the beauty of design made in America. The duo arrived from their North Carolina HQ to throw a stellar bash Bob Williams to benefit the Houston nonprofit Dec My Room, which revamps pediatric hospital rooms and is now taking this project around the country for kids undergoing long-term medical treatment. Dec My Room founder Susan Plank and supporters Courtney Barta and Cathy French greeted the MG + BW brigade on the step-and-repeat, including Gold and Williams, store manager Ryan Rottum, and fellow execs Eloise Goldman, Matt Langford, Ryan Obermiller, and Andrea Sylvia. Then the party began in full — and fully furnished — splendor. No need to import rent-a-chairs here. Guests lounged, posed on beguiling perches such Tena as Alicia's and Kalinda's chairs (from the Good Wife Lundquist Collection) and got comfy on the Dr. Pitt sectional (if Faust it's good enough for the White House, it's okay by us). And there were the clever touches that kept the crowd of 300 there late, late, late: hip DJs Tom + Collins, in from Mexico City to spin the vinyl, and party bites catered by Cordúa, from sushi stations to our fave, down-home fried pies. Clinking to MG + BW: Missy Stewart, dishing with Sheryl Stringer; Sallie Morian; Jennifer Roosth; designer Kathy Masterson and husband Harry; Geoffrey Westergaard of Carl Moore; Mike Ryan; Laura Bhatia; Ron Juwa; Jean Radelat; Yasmine Haddad; Joann and Bill Crassas, whose son Dean had already been shopping at the home furnishings mecca for his new pad; Dilsat Baysal; designer Catheryn Wilson; Clayton Katz; Ryan Cotter; Stephen Longoria, eying the Ava sofa; Tena Lundquist Faust with twin Tama Lundquist; Johanna Mnayer; Elegant Additions' Julie Koch; gal pals Judith Oudt and Lacy Baird; Elina Htun; Janus Lazaris; Kim Padgett; Deborah Elias; Bebe Browning; Anna and John Westbrook; Shawna Roorda; Claudia McNeill; and Pamela Perilloux. Upping the ante for Dec My Room was a trio of in-store shopping sprees graciously donated by MG + BW, plus a raffle fueled by jewels and a handsome leather wing chair.
