PHOTOGRAPHY AARON FAIROOZ, DANA DRIENSKY, JOHN HUDSON. Let's be honest: Dallas loves a party for a good cause. Philanthropic Partying F.I.G. Scores Poetic, artistic and energetic, the America SCORES Dallas SoccerBall 10th Annual gala at Fashion Industry Gallery successfully conquered the nonprofit's mission of addressing obesity and illiteracy through soccer and poetry. Chairman Marlene Sughrue and husband John entertained guests at the silent and live auction dinner that raised $230,000 — the Christensen Foundation kicked off the live auction with a stellar donation of $25,000. Local artist Richard Nunez donated an abstract work of art for the live auction that featured poetic phrases from last year's poetry winner. "The highlight of the night was the Scores children, who recited their original poetry with great pride and energy, underscoring the value of the program and reminding us all why we were there supporting the event," Marlene shared. Poem pals: Erin Cluley and Tearlach Hutchenson, Anne and Steve Stodghill, Sharon Hunt, Michael Pappas, and Mark and Whitney Giles. Max Trowbridge Wiping Out With Pat Green Always one to draw a crowd, Pat Green teamed up with the Wipe Out Kids' Cancer nonprofit for a night of entertainment and good will at the Dallas Contemporary. Geared towards eliminating pediatric cancer by raising funds for extensive research, the organization welcomed more than 400 guests to this year's event, which raised $200,000. Marla and Van Shaw hosted and toasted an evening filled with cocktails, dinner and a live auction. After the highest bidder raised his paddle, patrons were surprised with a musical performance, courtesy of the one and only Tracy Lawrence. Cowboy boots kicked into high gear, and the crowd danced into the night with charitable chaps: Lisa and Dave Besserer, Tammie Kleinmann, Brian Nadurak, Kelley and Brian Schadt, and Ben and Tracy Lange. Jane Rozelle A Big Night For Charity When Big Brothers Big Sisters hosted its annual Big Black Tie Ball at the Omni Hotel, chairman Sue Gray and Katherine Musick and honorary chair T. Boone Pickens greeted more than 600 guests for an evening of art, music and fund-raising. After a cocktail reception and dinner, the silent and live auction proffered prizes, which included a Cowboys suite package and work from featured artist Julie Dailey. Guests also received a special serenade from country music star Trace Adkins. By evening's end, a whopping $435,000 was raised to help the charity pair children facing adversity with strong mentoring relationships — and more than 44 new donors were secured. Big supporters: Andrew Gray, Charles and Pam Pierson, and Teresa Frosini. Jane Rozelle Hot to Trot Equest Auxiliary Luncheon and Fashion Show, themed "Horse Power: The Miracle of a Horse," could have been called "The Ultimate Power House" instead — as in, the Dallas ladies who lunch. Decked out in fall finery, the Women's Auxiliary members sipped mimosas outside Brook Hollow Country Club before settling down for a fashion show featuring the best of Highland Park Village. Producer and narrator Jan Strimple held court as models strutted the runway in luxe lines including Escada, Trina Turk, Saint Laurent and Carolina Herrera. Chairman Tiffany Divis presented the Equest Community Service Award to Nancy Carter with the powerhouse of ladies that included Pat McEvoy, Jocelyn White, Maggie Cooke Kipp, Katherine Coker, Lisa Ogle, Anne Stodghill, Cara French, Angie Kadesky, Tanya Foster, Cindy Turner, Yvonne Crum, Kristina Whitcomb, Shay Geyer, and Billie Leigh Rippey.
