SCHIEGE HOUSE, named for cigar-factory owner and Round Top mayor Charles Schiege, is the owner's residence and includes a large living/dining area with a pressed-tin ceiling and antique painted floor, open state-of-the-art kitchen, first-floor bedroom with private bathroom and walk-in closet; laundry room, the Inn office, two spacious second-floor guest rooms with lovely private baths and a common sitting area, and a bonus: a below-grade stone cellar originally used to store dairy products that could be converted into a wine room. The RETREAT CENTER provides a large entertaining space with a tall trussed ceiling, serving bar, a catering kitchen, full bathroom, and sheltered open-air porch. The building is a premier event venue but would also serve beautifully as a family gathering place, gym, media room, or gameroom should the property be purchased for private use. Visitors and guests are greeted by the GATE HOUSE at the front of the property, once the cigar factory manager's home. This charming cottage consists of a raised front porch, large first-floor bedroom and full bathroom and a second-floor dormer-style bedroom. The FARMHOUSE was moved in from LaGrange and occupies the crest of the compound's hill. This two- bedroom, two bathroom structure offers a raised porch that extends across the entire front exterior and two spacious bedrooms, the Red Room and the Blue Room, and two private bathrooms with refinished antique tubs with showers and pedestal sinks. The LITTLE COTTAGE is a compact structure that was once a part the Farmhouse. A cozy one-bedroom, one-bathroom (with Jacuzzi tub) cottage enhanced by stained-glass windows, it is the Inn's official bridal suite. The CIGAR FACTORY hosts breakfast for up to 20 and is equipped with a warming/serving kitchen. On the second floor is The Bunk Room, a rustic loft-style bedroom with a private bathroom. N estled among heirloom oak trees, Round Top Inn is a unique, country-chic, top-rated bed and breakfast with a proven record of consistent profit growth. An iconic landmark at the heart of the Golden Triangle of Houston, Austin, and San Antonio, the Inn offers seven guest rooms within five houses plus a corporate retreat and wedding venue. Only four blocks from the town square, the turnkey property is perfectly positioned to take advantage of the enviably relaxed Round Top lifestyle as a private family vacation compound, profitable business, or a combination of both. The Inn began as a cigar factory in the 1880s and three of its six structures have received plaques from the Texas Historical Commission. All of the Inn's buildings have been remodeled and expanded for easy modern living and convenience using a period German Hill Country-style that is inviting and serenely comfortable yet sophisticated. The one-acre hill-top compound surrounds a sweeping expanse of sloped grassy lawn perfect for outdoor activities and events—weddings, parties, family reunions, picnics or casually elegant dinners al fresco. Amenities include a 19th-century capped stone water well, expansive river rock motor court, winding stone paths and steps, dramatic, beautifully manicured and established landscape, and gently diffused tree lighting. The Inn is dog-friendly and one of its recent additions is Billy Paul's Dog Park, a large fenced paddock named after the resident red bone hound. Round Top Inn is an integral component of local history and character, and presents the purchase opportunity of a lifetime for a buyer keen to embrace the unparalleled Round Top lifestyle.
