DRESSING TO THRILL Hot Pockets P ockets Menswear owners Andy Weil and Doug Duckworth celebrated the haberdashery's 40th anniversary by honoring influential men of Dallas via the store's Dressing The Dallas Man campaign. The clothing hub, located at The Plaza at Preston Center, was packed for the occasion. "Each man, in his own way, has shaped the way we look at our city," said Weil of the men of honor. The 11 Pockets men of Dallas: Scoot McNairy, DeMarcus Ware, Charlie Price, Jason Needleman, David Goltl, Steve Wrubel, Julian Barsotti, Matt Alexander, Chad Houser, Keith Conlon, and Pockets Menswear founder David Smith. 23 Salutations D allas knows how to roll out the welcome wagon, which is why jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer left Tinseltown to visit her fans here. Kicking off the trip was a trunk show at Beth Ewing's Highland Park home, where guests got an up- close-and-personal peek behind the jewelry maven's signature style. Cue in a private dinner at the Joule Terrace of The Joule hotel hosted by the dynamic duo behind Ylang 23, Charles and Joanne Teichman. They entertained 38 friends at a very chic dinner, including two special guests: Texas-born actor Lukas Haas and Meyer's husband, Tobey Maguire, who arrived in time for dessert (and visited the Dallas Art Fair that weekend). The glamorously long table was awash in roses and hydrangeas, thanks to the talents of Kimberly Whitman and Daryl's By Design. Celebrants: Emily Cates, Lynne Palmeiro, Kenny Goss, Stephanie Zick, Caitlin Carty, Lisa Moore, Cathy Williamson, Beth Dike, Sheryl Wood, Lael Brodsky, Julie Lieberman, Andy Beal, Finn Ewing, and Jenny Herring. Light My Fire D owntown Dallas was ablaze in celebration of the reopening of the bigger, better Traffic Women boutique. (A minor fire glitch had caused them to shut down for a blink of an eye.) The stylish set converged upon The Joule hotel for the (once again) new debut, themed Re-Igniting Spring. In from L.A., boutique owners Michael and Sarah Moldovan orchestrated an evening of shopping the new collections (Iro, Isabel Marant, Kenzo, and Dsquared) while waiters passed smoke- inspired sips and snacks including a smoky jalapeƱo and coconut margarita, smoked salt caramel alfajores and frozen s'mores. Smokin' hot: Greg Katz, Shelle Sills, David Smith, Jane Wempe, and Bianca Anderson.
