L ynn Wyatt teased that many years ago in Rome, her friends were telling her about a store called La Perla, and she assumed it was a jewelry store that specialized in pearls. "But in fact, it is a jewel of luxurious intimate apparel, and I'm glad that La Perla chose to grace our city," she said to an assemblage of sophisticated guests attending a fête at her River Oaks home to welcome the brand to Texas. Vogue — represented by Ashley Clauss, in from New York — served as co-host of the most recent fabulous party in Wyatt's year-long 80th birthday celebration. Richard Flowers of The Events Company filled her home with orchids and votive candles. Champagne cocktails, including Wyatt's signature Half and Half (see below), and delectable bites from her personal chef were passed, as pianist Scott Graham played classical music. Guests mingled with the luxury lingerie brand's North America CEO Suzy Biszantz, in from New York, as well as West Coast regional manager Marzia Rossetto.
