Such is the jet-setting life of Becca Cason Thrash, who recently hopped off a plane to host 40 of her well-dressed playmates with Vogue magazine's director of special events Cara Crowle y at Louis Vuitton in the Galleria. LV's Emily Paull and Patricia Maillet Smith wel- comed très chic Crowley, who was in town for the civilized luncheon, as well as that evening's Galleria Luxe Show, and the corresponding PaperCity pre-party at The Webster. Guests slipped in via the secret valet back-door entrance to the boutique, which is opened only to VIPs and on special occasions. As they admired the maison's Fall/Winter 2016 collection designed by newly ensconced artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière, a few charity-luncheon-circuit regulars looked around and asked, "What is this benefi tting?" The answer was simply — and divinely — that it was all in the name of fall fashion. Dahlias dotted two rows of long tables in the women's accessories area for the affair catered by City Kitchen, with haricots verts, saffron sea bass, and roasted rainbow caulifl ower. Macaron party favors and Parisian dessert trays of peppermint brownies, candied ginger, and roasted pear tartlets closed out the afternoon on a sweet note.
