18 OBSESSIONS. DECORATIONS. SALIENT FACTS. A ctivewear label Outdoor Voices is all about movement, whether we're heading to lunch after a stroll on the Katy Trail, sweating it out in spin class, or having a namaste moment during yoga. Founded in 2013 by Tyler Haney, the New York-based brand with a flagship store in Austin has expanded its Texas footprint to include a new boutique in Knox-Henderson. We love Outdoor Voices' comfy essentials for women and men — tees, tanks, shorts, jackets, high-waisted leggings, racerback crop tops — and its Doing Things initiative that brings Dallasites together through athletic activities (the OV Joggers Club, yoga in the park). Outdoor Voices also plans to host mini golf and cornhole tournaments in an outside space adjacent the boutique. Outdoor Voices, 4539 Travis St., 214.238.2844, outdoorvoices.com. Linden Wilson The Great OUTDOORS MAD ABOUT Matthew F ashion designer Matthew Williamson — Britain's modern master of prints — has launched his first U.S. home collection with CB2 (he has fabric and wallpaper collections with UK- based Osborne & Little). Controlled bohemia is how the interior design- obsessed Williamson describes the 33-piece collaboration that includes lighting, accessories, rugs, pillows, and furniture. "Everything I've designed is intended not to match perfectly but to sit together in harmony," he says. Kaleidoscopic jewel tones bring life to the Avec apartment sofa with brass legs and the Mother Amazon dining chair. Tabletop offerings include a gold palm-tree candle holder and teapots in matte royal purple and turquoise. Matthew Williamson home collection $10 to $1,999, at cb2.com. Anne Lee Phillips ART NOTES T rolling Around: Move over, Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake. Aligning with the release of DreamWorks' Trolls, Brian Gibb's The Public Trust online store stocks works by Russian sculptor and Instagram sensation Daria Lapto; her hand-stitched creatures (trolls, dragons, cats, and surreal fairy maidens) are both adorable and feral — and infinitely collectible (trustthepublic. com). Installation Lady: A matriarch of the Dallas art scene, Frances Bagley, solos at Kirk Hopper Fine Art. Dallas Museum of Art-exhibited Bagley's practice interweaves theater, painting, sculpture, and installation. Here, she presents an eerie maze-like structure populated by melting figures (like the casts of Pompeii's victims), alongside a tiny house teetering on a hill. What does it all portend? The enigma is the message of this modern-day surrealist in "The Lay of the Land" (through December 22). Party Girl: Fort Worth-based Nancy Lamb is the Bill Cunningham of the Texas art set — an inveterate staple of gatherings grand and glittering, camera held high and proud, snapping thousands of slices of life from the social arena. She turns the result into photorealist paintings. See her latest and greatest at Artspace111 in Fort Worth, paired with works by Fort Worth transplant William Greiner, a lensman collected by the Getty, MoMA, and the Amon Carter (both shows, December 8 – February 4). Cedars Siren: Stay tuned for updates about the grand opening of The MAC at the Cedars (PaperCity serves as media sponsor). Now on view is a doubleheader for Cedars-based creatives Sean P. Miller and Joshua von Ammon (closing reception Saturday, December 10, 6 to 9 pm). Painter von Ammon co-founded the provocative S.C.A.B. (Socialized Contemporary Artists Bureau), while Miller melds sculpture and video … At Ro2 Art, adjoining the MAC complex in a historic former apothecary, gallerist Jordan Roth has scouted Colombian- American sculptor Bernardo Vallarino. The mixed-media master fills a room with … well, go to the show to find out (through December 17). More arts, papercitymag. com. Catherine D.
