BUBBLYQ EMBODIES WHAT DALLAS DOES BEST: DOING IT BIG! We had gorgeous weather, people, and food, along with big pockets and big hearts. — Phuong Tran, Young Texans Against Cancer president 18 BUBBLE YUM By Jane Rozelle. Photography Jason Voinov. B ubblyQ, the signature fund-raiser for Young Texans Against Cancer, is one of the fizziest fêtes for the bright young set. Guests gathered under a starry sky at The Ritz- Carlton's Live Oak Bar for cocktails and small plates from Parigi, Uchi, and Fearing's. Our pick for tastiest went to chef Dean Fearing, whose Fire Dorito fried chicken on jalapeño Texas toast was a crowd-pleaser. (The dish is currently on the menu at Fearing's, so make a reservation, stat.) Chairs Katherine Harper and James Caroll, with YTAC's Catharine Flagg, Daniella Giglio, and auction chair Heidi Benda, ensured the evening lived up to its razzle-dazzle reputation. "We are so excited for the 10th anniversary," said Carroll of the next BubblyQ, slated for October 5. "We are already hard at work planning for the evening." He would know: Carroll will be back again, this time planning the mega- watt anniversary with co-chair Vodi Cook. On the scene: Preston Evans, Avril Terry Rees, Blake Sullivan, Alex Baker, Annie Shamoon, Cathy and Jack Flagg, Heather Winn, Chris Leathers, Savannah Thode, Joani and Bob Benda, Caytie Langford, Elisabeth Zuerker, Maggie and Stephen Richman.
