letter publisher ANNE LAHO 12 A s April commences, we're relishing the arrival of spring — al fresco lunches and soirées. March ended with a bang as we wrapped our third Texas Design Week Houston, where leaders in the design industry gathered to speak, sign books, appear on panels, and clink cocktails over a five-day period. It was a whirlwind week, and we're looking forward to its sister event, Texas Design Week Dallas, set for October 7 through 11. This issue highlights fashion, art, and design and the interesting intersection of all three, including one noteworthy Houston design development. The Cottages at Matt Camron is a quaint, chic, and historical addition to the Upper Kirby area. Matt Esfahani and Sarah Esfahani Tringhese of Matt Camron Rugs & Tapestries saved seven vintage bungalows from demolition and moved them to their Westheimer block, tastefully renovating and making a walkable creative paradise. The Cottage tenants include interior designers, design and fashion boutiques, and other creatives. One style page in this issue is on Van Gogh, with items selected by art director Michelle Aviña, that reflect the Dutch painter's works and aesthetic. See "Vincent Van Gogh: His Life in Art" at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, on view through June 27. The blockbuster exhibition includes a special section for children that I cannot wait to experience with my girls. Please enjoy this issue — and welcome to April!
