33 FORT WORTH HERE We COME! BY BILLY FONG. PHOTOGRAPHY JONATHAN ZIZZO. I t would be apropos to call Neiman Marcus and PaperCity the closest of friends. The storied retailer has quite liter- ally been by our side since the beginning, having thrown parties to launch our Houston magazine 25 years ago, our Dallas entrée 21 years ago, and now our first foray into Fort Worth. Needless to say, nothing could stop our legions of new and old Fort Worth friends from turning out to Neiman Marcus at The Shops at Clearfork to raise a glass to our first issue of PaperCity Fort Worth. As it was the first week of September, fashion was on everyone's mind, and guests pulled out their chicest frocks and most dashing haberdashery. My favorite outfit award goes to girl-on-the-go Michelle Marlow, who was luminescent in Co iridescent shorts and architectural top. Alongside the PaperCity team welcoming guests were Neiman Marcus Fort Worth general manager, Scott Mitchell, and PR guru Allie Turney, who surprised us by enlarging PaperCity tenfold and placing massive copies of the issue in the NM windows, with a cheeky mannequin reading the 7-foot-tall book. Almost the entire Agather clan — longtime friends of the magazine as they tend to split time between Dallas and Fort Worth — rolled into Neiman's with smiles abounding. Elaine Agather and daughter Lorene Agather shared stories of summer adventures, while Bradley Agather Means was incredibly soigné in her last trimester. I had a surprise guest that evening: my first Fort Worth Bomb girl, Rozanne Rosenthal, who had previously told me she wouldn't be able to make it to the launch party since she would still be at her summer home in Aspen. I was shocked when I saw her walk in with daughters, Maddie Rosenthal and Ashli Blumenfeld. Apparently, they had returned home early and came directly to Neiman's from the plane. There were more from the Who's Who of Fort Worth, including Kendall Kostohryz and her mom, Kris Karr, and Susan Nix, Suzi Woo, Kelsey Patterson, Rob Schumacher, Wade Wilson, Olivia Kearney, artist Nancy Lamb, Brooke Hortenstine, Josh Needleman, Regan Landreth, Colleen Blair, Christy Dunaway Smith, Jenny Pace Dupree, Kendal Smith-Lake, Eric Prokesh, Becca Quisenberry, Olivia Potts, Crawford Edwards, Seehum Isa, Bhavani Garraway, Terron Sweat, Allie Nikolasian, Andrea Karnes, Angie Bulaich, Jessica Brandup, and Atlee Phillips.
