A VIEW THROUGH PIETER ESTERSOHN'S LENS BY ANNE LEE PHILLIPS P hotographer Pieter Estersohn's stunning photos of interiors and architecture appear in every major shelter magazine including Architectural Digest, and he has photographed numerous books for designers, including Charlotte Moss' volumes for Rizzoli. In his own book, Life Along the Hudson: The Historic Estates of the Livingston Family (Rizzoli), Estersohn photographed 35 country homes, important examples of stately American architecture built between 1730 and 1946, including his own estate, Staats Hall, which he recently restored. Estersohn will be in Dallas for Texas Design Week, appearing on a most appropriate panel, "Art of the Book Deal — From Design Project to Book," along with other design visionaries: Rizzoli's Sandy Gilbert, who was editor of Estersohn's book, as well as the books of architect/ designer Lee Ledbetter and designer Cathy Kincaid, who also appear on the panel. The event is moderated by Chesie Breen, who brokered the book deal for Kincaid (and wrote the copy for the book), as well as for designer David Kleinberg and others.
