NOTES Fendi is Going Soft For a softer touch in 2024, Fendi is relaunching two handbags. The By the Way bag, made from buttery soft Cuoio Romano leather, was first introduced in Fendi's Fall Winter 2014 c o l l e c t i o n . T h e n e w incarnation, available in two styles and one mini, has an unstructured, r e l a x e d s h a p e t h a t channels the essence of the original silhouette. Each sports a, hand-stitched details, a knotted leather zip pull, and detachable shoulder strap. Not to be outdone, the iconic Peekaboo bag shows its softer side for an autumn/winter return. The latest iteration, the Peekaboo Soft, has been given a sensual touch with Odalisque calf leather, exotic mink, smooth croc nabuk, super soft croc kashmir. and a print version adorned with Roman statuary prints. Fendi has softened t h e b a g ' s construction as well, smoothing hard edges to accentuate the natural curved smile of the Peekaboo. The palette is timeless, with natural tones ranging from earthy browns and greens to vibrant blues. At the Fendi boutique, from September 17. Then under the direction of creative director Marc Jacobs, the pair played off the classic aviator silhouette embellished with LV signatures. Fast forward to the present, and Williams, now at the helm of the fashion giant, has reintroduced the sunglasses to celebrate the 20th anniversary. Reinforced along the straight brow with aged gold metal strips and the LV Monogram and sporting vintage-like enameled S-lock hinges, the Louis Vuitton Millionaires are the new shades to wear during our long sunny days. A Moment in Time Louis Vuitton has a tradition of mining its history to reinvigorate product lines, and the recent update of the Escale watch is no different. The timepiece, launched 10 years ago, has received a timely makeover from lugs to case to crown. Vuitton has incorporated a number of stylistic touches that riff off its famous trunks and trace their lineage to the brand's heritage as a trunkmaker. While historic touches make for great stories, the watch stays current by incorporating highly textured and tactile surfaces, a unique case design, a n d s o p h i s t i c a t e d finishes, along with S w i s s m o v e m e n t components to bridge the old and new. $26,400 to $164,000, at the Louis Vuitton boutique.
